SM a tailor-made perspective which will reveal a glimpse of a stolen moment's simplicity... SM, a photographic duo in town as well as on the scene.

The artistic shock happens in 2001 in a photo lab : 2 creative sensibilities meet. Sandrine, at the age of 13, with photography running through her veins prefers skipping school so as to shoot her little brothers with her Zenith in the woods.

At 18, her first perfume campaign, followed straightaway by her first exhibition. Their minds instantly spark each other off and everything falls into place in her inner universe”???? Michael, former student from Louis Lumière, Paris, is first enticed by cinema. Very quickly, he will learn the ropes as a creative in many advertising agencies. The former eternally-frustrated & bottom of the class guy develops and expands with the contact of corporate clients. Then the meeting with Sandrine, and this becomes the catalyst for his true artist sensitivity which would express itself through photos from then on. As they meet, London becomes the creative cradle of the pair. Their Work and family life all takes place in the heart of their photo studio located in West London. Suitcases and spotlights next to their two children's dolls and playthings: " S.M.or the photo lifestyle !"

"The SM duo favours the phantasms which a camera can summon under full light, or in shadows. For about ten years, they have been experimenting to reach  a certain perspective, to show a deep appreciation and concern for what is or could be beautiful. Even more, they strive to make each feeling palpable. Some artists keep placing their trust in them, even though the SM duo fancies changing the looks, using not-so-natural expressions… Avoiding mundane positions in the middle of setting deliberately made wobbly. Masochism ? Pranks rather...

The SM duo sublimates the artists ready to play their game; those who dare taking risks to embody an image, fleshing it out even if that means shaking up the audience. Artists continue to place their trust in them, and look to them always, even though the SM duo vary the style and looks, using not-so-natural expressions… They avoid mundane positions in the middle of setting; they deliberately make the surroundings unsteady and almost unbalanced. Then there is the question of Masochism No, Pranks rather... The SM duo sublimates the artists and encourages them to divert their energy to play a game; those who dare will take the risks to embody a certain image, they will give their form to a fantasy even if that means shaking up the spectator or observer.

SM practises photography as craftsmen, but within a research laboratory, challenging the usual perspectives, continually experimenting and finding new techniques and skills.
